The PPS found its permanent home on the corner of Indian Ripple and Grange Hall Road in 2018 after an amazing twist of fate. Few people know the story of this historic location and why this was the perfect setting for Beavercreek’s music hub.
A Message from the Owner
Since 2005, The Piano Preparatory School has provided first-class music programming for the greater Dayton area. Our beautiful facility, outstanding teachers and professional atmosphere offer children and adults a creative place to grow musically!
My musical journey began in a “traditional” setting, with lessons taught in the home of a neighborhood piano teacher. At every point in my musical education – through completion of graduate degrees and in pursuing performance and study opportunities abroad – I experienced firsthand the power of musical collaboration.
The PPS began with a kernel of an idea – that making music with others was not only fun, but offered a more meaningful and successful path to learning. My experience teaching at the renowned Carnegie Mellon Preparatory School supported this desire to create a space in my hometown – the first of its kind – where students of all ages and abilities would be able to explore music together as a community.

Our beautiful facility was specifically and thoughtfully designed to foster music collaboration. We have designated studios for private lessons, group classes, as well as a dedicated performance space.

Our unique programs (many exclusive to the Dayton area!) encompass the whole musician, focusing on fundamental skills and exposure to a variety of musical styles. In addition, we offer numerous performance opportunities, small-group classes, workshops, and special events to students of all levels, to encourage sharing music in a supportive community.
