Emily Evans, Violin/Voice

Soprano Emily Evans earned a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from DePaul University under the tutelage of Elizabeth Byrne, and her Bachelor of Music degree from Moody Bible Institute. In Chicago she worked with The Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company, The Floating Opera Company, and The DePaul Opera Theater, where she was seen most notably as the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute. She has been a featured soloist in Handel's Messiah and Purcell's Fairy Queen and was selected as runner up for the Sinfonietta Bel Canto Competition (2016). In addition to her operatic credits, Emily has participated in master classes with tenor Quinn Kelsey, sopranos Nicole Cabell, Pamela Hinchman and Ruth Hennessy. She is now an active performer in the Dayton area and a member of the Dayton Opera Chorus. In addition to opera, Emily also studied the violin, playing in chamber ensembles and her undergraduate symphonic band. She has taught beginner violin for seven years and is very passionate about helping little ones develop good habits at the onset of their musical journey.
